The Pill ~ Saluting 50 Years of Female Freedom

Time's Executive Editor Nancy Gibbs reminds us that the Birth Control Pill has been available now for a half-century in her piece The Pill at 50: Sex, Freedom and Paradox. Lots to be said about this, but one crucially important element was the philanthropic financier role of suffragist MIT alumna Katharine Dexter McCormick, who supported the essential early research into contraception.
