Reading about the Chilean Mine Rescue in-progress, I saw several article on other extreme experience survivals. I've written about cheating hypothermia, burn trauma survivors, Haiti's quake survivors redefining endurance, recipients of full-facial transplants, and resilient kids, for example. But the story of Uruguayan rugby player Nando Parrado and the Andes airplane crash he and some fellow passengers survived is truly epic-heroic.
