Dan West, Heifer has helped millions grow their way out of poverty. As Julianne emphasized to me...
"The great thing about their model is that they don't just give out the livestock, they also educate the recipients on animal husbandry, kitchen gardening, and in some cases general nutrition. They further require that the recipients extend the benefit by giving one or more animal offspring to other families in need, and sharing their newly acquired knowledge. So one gift multiplies and expands to lift many households."
