Plastic Sodabottle Prosthesis ~ Yeongchi Wu!
D-Lab Prosthetics instructor Ken Endo just hosted the Center for International Rehabilitation's Dr Yeongchi Wu at the MIT Media Lab for a talk on Appropriate Prosthetic Technologies for Developing Countries. Dr Wu spotlighted several of his ultra-affordable and clever ideas, including vacuum-molding via bean bags as alternative to plaster casts, and one of my favorites, this reuse of plastic sodabottles for prosthetics!
